Tis the season to be Jolly… but it can also be the season to feel busy, tired and at times a little bit overwhelmed by all of the extra events, occasions and family time. If you are feeling more festively frazzled than jolly here are some tips to help you stay calm and centred during the holiday season.
- Stay close to your fitness routine – extra demands on our time can make to committing to your normal workout schedule challenging but try to keep some daily movement over the holiday season even if that’s just a short walk or a few sun salutations, your body and your mind will thank you for it. Make sure to check out our Xmas and New Year timetable
- Add a mindfulness practise – if you haven’t tried a mindfulness practise then being around all your relatives over the festive period might be a great time to start. Taking just a few moments out to focus on some deep abdominal breaths or even just slowing down to enjoy a cup of tea can help recentre you and make you feel calmer
- Embrace imperfection – we can create a lot of our own stress by focusing too hard on making it all perfect and not just living in the moment. The holidays are a time to celebrate, to reflect on the past year and to spend time with family and friends – keep that your focus and intention over the holidays and try not to sweat the small stuff.
